National Health Innovation Campus

The National Health Innovation Campus is a transformative multi-million pound project being brough forward by the University of Huddersfield.

It will improve health outcomes and lead innovation in healthcare for the North of England.

Health, medical technologies and associated services provide a key focus for economic development, and the Campus will deliver a major boost to regeneration and jobs, creating the largest, most dynamic centre for workforce development in the North of England.

The campus will enable world-leading research and innovation, and their transfer into professional practice and industry. The facilities in the new campus will provide for expansions in internationally excellent and connected projects in fields such as: AI applications in health, wound care, proton therapy, diabetes and multiple sclerosis interventions, Mental health, Leadership in healthcare, Medical therapeutics and design for healthcare, providing a focus for entrepreneurial academic activity, linked to the needs of the local health workforce and the regional health economy.

Planning for the first phase 10,000m2 building has been secured and development is due to commence.  The building will host the Health and Wellbeing Academy (due to open at this new location in 2024), a number of classrooms and labs, and other specialist facilities for learning.
