Next month our team will be heading to UKREiiF 2026, and it is a fantastic chance to showcase the exciting wealth of opportunities for development in Kirklees and represent a borough brimming with potential, energy and ambition.
For anyone who hasn’t been before, the UK Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum is the biggest national gathering for regeneration, housing, and investment. For the fifth year running it’s taking place in Leeds (19 – 21 May), and it brings together 16,000 organisations, developers, investors and decision‑makers from all over the UK and further afield.
It’s a chance to connect with people who are actively looking for the next place to grow, innovate and invest.
Events like UKREiiF give us the perfect platform to start conversations that could shape the future of our towns and communities. Whether it’s exploring financial investment, new partnership opportunities, or attracting businesses that want to base themselves in the borough, this event forum gives us access to the people who can help us turn big ideas into real-world projects.
Kirklees isn’t just open for business – it’s primed for growth. We have the locations, the talent, the industries, and the vision. What we’re looking for now are partners ready to join us in creating a thriving, sustainable, future-focused place to live, work, and invest.
What we are showcasing
This year, we’re showcasing our exciting development opportunities—from local schemes to major regeneration programmes already making a visible impact.

Here’s just some of what we’ll be highlighting:
Huddersfield Town Centre Transformation: A bold, long-term plan – the Huddersfield Blueprint – reshaping the heart of the town through culture, leisure, connectivity and public spaces.
Dewsbury Regeneration & Heritage Renewal: Breathing life back into historic assets like the Dewsbury Arcade, strengthening the town’s identity and creating vibrant spaces for businesses and communities.
Station to Stadium Enterprise Corridor: A key strategic route unlocking new growth, movement and investment potential aligned with the University of Huddersfield’s National Health Innovation Campus. Part of the West Yorkshire Investment Zone we’re seeking a development partner for a seven-acre site on Gasworks Street to bring the site forward for advanced manufacturing and R&D uses linked to the health and life sciences.
Residential, Employment & Industrial Sites Across Kirklees: Opportunities for companies in engineering, manufacturing, technology and logistics to expand in a borough already known for innovation. Plus, strategic growth sites Dewsbury Riverside and Chidswell that will deliver around 4,500 new homes, and 35 hectares of employment land.
These projects are taking shape now, and UKREiiF is a chance to share our vision and excitement with a national audience.
How we’re getting involved
Throughout the event, we’ll be taking part in panel discussions, networking sessions and presentations – all geared towards connecting with investors and developers who want to be part of Kirklees’ story.

UKREiiF gives us the platform to showcase our regeneration projects and why our borough is an ideal place for investors and businesses. We’re guided by long-term town centre blueprints that set out the positive changes we want to see over the next decade and beyond—from new cultural spaces and better transport to green public areas. And Strategic infrastructure investment projects like TRU are already being shown to drive measurable regeneration – around Huddersfield train station this includes £368 million of net additional economic benefit, 918 net additional jobs, 801 net additional homes, and 36,300 sq.m of additional commercial floorspace over ten years.
The progress we’re seeing already — from Our Cultural Heart to the George Hotel — is shaping the future of our town centres, demonstrating exactly what’s possible when investment meets vision.
Kirklees has always been a place of craftsmanship, creativity and cutting-edge industry. Today, we’re building on that heritage by championing culture, innovation and entrepreneurship. It’s a powerful mix—and one that makes Kirklees a standout destination for investors and businesses.
UKREiiF 2026 is going to be an incredible opportunity to meet people who share our ambition and can help us deliver it.
If you’re attending the event in May, come and find us on the West Yorkshire pavilion in the Pink Zone – our team would love to talk about the opportunities waiting here in our borough.
